Hi, I’m Casey.

In the movie Into the Wild, Christopher McCandless famously says, 'Happiness is only real when shared.' This resonates deeply with me, not just in life, but in my work as a photographer. For me, photography is more than just snapping pictures—it's about sharing moments, emotions, and stories.

At Casey's Corner Photography, I bring this philosophy to every session, whether I'm creating corporate headshots for professionals in San Jose, documenting corporate events, or capturing precious family moments. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for authentic imagery, I offer a range of services that help both businesses and individuals tell their unique stories.

I feel the most alive when I'm behind the camera, finding those real, unguarded moments that reveal character and connection. From the confident smile in a professional headshot to the spontaneous laughter at a family gathering, these authentic expressions are what make my work meaningful—and being able to document them brings me a sense of fulfillment like nothing else.

Where my story begins

My love affair with photography began unexpectedly, an iPhone capturing Big Sur's majesty sparking a passion that soon had me toting a "real" camera everywhere.

What started as a hobby became an obsession, teaching me to see beauty in both grand vistas and everyday moments. Now, my landscape prints adorn walls, sharing glimpses of wonder with others.

But it was losing my mother that revealed photography's true power. Those few captured memories of her became priceless, prompting me to trade my 14-year IT career for a lens and a dream.

Now, every click of the shutter is a chance to freeze time, to connect deeply with others, and to create lasting treasures. In chasing light and emotion, I've found my true calling.

A turning point

After my mother and grandfather passed away, I found myself holding onto the few photos I had of her like they were treasures. It hit me—these moments, these memories, they matter more than we realize in the moment. That’s when I thought, “Maybe I can do this. Maybe I can help others hold onto their moments too.”

It was a bit intimidating at first, but I felt driven by something deeper. I started taking photos for friends and family, and the response was overwhelming. The more I captured, the more I realized how powerful photography could be. It wasn’t just about the photos—it was about preserving memories that mean the world to people.

Then I started photographing people!

I didn’t expect to fall in love with photographing people as much as I did. Families, events, birthdays—each one brings something unexpected, and I thrive on that. Every family, every person is different, and there’s always a unique dynamic to figure out. Whether it’s a bat mitzvah, a birthday party, or a family shoot, there’s something special about capturing those genuine interactions that can’t be posed or planned.

PEOPLE ARE ALWAYS FULL OF SURPRISES.

No two sessions are ever the same. There’s always a new challenge—getting people to relax, to connect with each other, or just being in the right place when those natural moments unfold. It’s my job to make people feel comfortable, to create an environment where they can be their authentic selves. And when that happens, that’s when the magic happens—those are the moments I live for.
